“Change of story” is about women whose strength, and courage led to a better future. Starting out at the brothels in Bangkok, rehabilitation programs offering work and steady income has given these women a new path. As a result they have changed their story and their lives. Roughly 2.2 million people are trapped in the sex industry in Thailand. Some go on their own, others are encouraged by families or boyfriends seeking easy money. In reality most of these women make less than $5 a day. Although, these stories start with physical, sexual, and mental abuse that is not the whole story. Aside from trauma, one thing these women have in common is hope. Hope for a better life outside of the brothels. Hope for their children so they don’t suffer the same fate as they did. Hope that the socio and economical hardships they were born into won’t determine their future. This hope has given these women a new path. As a result they have changed their lives and their story.
